Littleton Symphony Closes 2008-09 Season

Under the leadership of maestro Jurgen de Lemos (pictured left), the Littleton Symphony Orchestra ends its 25th anniversary season with two performances in collaboration with the Canto Deo Festival Choir, Friday and Saturday evenings (May 15-16) at Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 South Datura Street in Littleton (near South Broadway and West Belleview). Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will open with "Symphony of Psalms" by Igor Stravinsky, followed by "Scheherazade" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

In addition to his tenure with the Littleton Symphony (since 1990), maestro de Lemos has been the principal cellist with the Colorado Symphony since 1968! He has already announced his retirement from the CSO, effective at the conclusion of the current season.
