Peoples Fair 2010 needs you!!
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!Volunteers Needed for the 39th Annual CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair
Denver, Colo. – April 29, 2010 – Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, Inc., is now recruiting volunteers for the 39th Annual CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair (voted “Best Annual City Festival of 2005 and 2006” by the readers of the Rocky Mountain News and Westword) to be held at Civic Center Park on June 5 and 6, 2010. The power behind the People’s Fair comes from our tremendous volunteers. More than 300 volunteers are needed every year to assure the success of the People’s Fair and the enjoyment of our many fairgoers.
The People’s Fair remains a shining example of neighborhood pride. It is a community-oriented volunteer event that continues to benefit Capitol Hill non-profit organizations. Greater Capitol Hill non-profit organizations benefit from participating in the People’s Fair by running the soft drink and beer booths at the Fair, and are known as “Community Partners.”

An invitation to our annual CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair Kick-off Party
Complimentary soft drinks and snacks during your shift, and complimentary beer after your shift (for those 21 years of age and older)
Regular communication in the months leading up to the People’s Fair, in the form of our volunteer newsletter, the Fairfax
A “countdown packet” in May with detailed volunteer shift information and helpful general People’s Fair information for the weekend of the Fair
A great volunteer opportunity in a festive, outdoor setting

The 39th Annual CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair is presented by Miller Lite and FOX 31 News. Volunteer shifts are available in the following categories:
GREEN Team
Join us in our efforts to turn the People's Fair into a more environmentally sustainable event. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about greening and recycling, to guide and educate fairgoers in the correct disposal of their waste. We will provide an educational seminar for all of our GREEN team volunteers to better prepare you in spreading the knowledge needed to create a more sustainable world.
Information/Souvenir BoothsHelp spread the Spirit of the Fair on our Souvenir Team! We have many wonderful items to offer the fairgoers and need your help. Cash handling experience is helpful. You may also help with the most important area of the People's Fair, the Information Booths, where you will answer questions along with acting as the Lost and Found Center, Fair Directory distribution center and the overall fairgoers assistance center.
Fair AmbassadorIn conjunction with the Information Booths, the Fair Ambassadors are the heart of the Fair. Smiling faces and happy feet are needed to greet fairgoers, distribute Fair directories, and provide general information about the Fair and its happenings.
Spirit Team!
Get in the People’s Fair spirit and join us as we spice up the fairgrounds with banners, signs, sidewalk chalk and more!
Entertainment
The People’s Fair offers entertainment on six stages and hosts over 100 bands and entertainment acts over the weekend. Assist the bands as they load in and load out their gear, assist the Stage Managers in organizing the schedules and times of acts and provide assistance to fairgoers enjoying the entertainment.
Site Set-up/Tear Down
This is where things really start to happen. Help transform the streets of the Civic Center into the best party of the year! Let the handyman/woman in you out! Shifts are available Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to select the one that best fits your schedule. As part of the site set-up team you will be setting up tents, building props, marking booth spaces, lifting and moving heavy objects, setting up tables & chairs, helping exhibitors, etc.
